PURPOSE:To increase safety against gas in case of emergency, by fitting a cock which can be automatically opened and closed, to the inside of a piping of gas, and by automatically close said cock by detecting the leakage of gas at the time of earthquake or the like. CONSTITUTION:A gas shut-off body 8 is fitted to the inside of a piping of gas, at the connecting parts 1 and 1, and the body 8 is constituted by being provided with a cock valve 23 which is opened and closed by a lever 3. The cock valve 23 is automatically closed, by engaging a pinion provided on the rotating shaft of a motor 14, with a rack 13 provided to a rod 12, and by driving the motor 14 in response to the output from a sensor 6 which functions in case of leakage of gas and at the time of earthquake. At this time, the space between stoppers 10 and 11 is opened being detached from each other, and a cock valve 23 is closed by the tension of a spring 20. Said motor 14 is stopped, by turning OFF a switch 21 by the device 22 which operates in one body with a cock valve 23, when a valve closing mechanism is in action. |
