Process for preparing silver(I) oxide for button cells

Pulverulent silver(I) oxide suitable for button cells and having a particle size of 2-5 mu m is obtained from silver nitrate solution by precipitation with potassium hydroxide solution. The precipitation is carried out at 40-80 DEG C within 10-60 minutes, the ageing of the precipitate obtained is effected by stirring for 5-24 hours at 40-80 DEG C.
