A burner (22) is fixed to the bowl (1) of a pipe, usable when smoking, and of which the flame is directed on the content (5) of the bowl, for example tobacco. The bowl is filled with tobacco through a stuffing opening (6) and at the vicinity of this opening is arranged the burner (22) which is capable of burning inflammable substances. This burner is connected to a container (12) of said substances and is directed towards the inside of the bowl. In the area of the burner there is provided an igniter with a release to ignite the substances. The container (12) is connected to the burner with a conduit (19) which extends through the walls of the bowl, and the burner is arranged on one of said walls and is directed to the inside of the bowl.
