The continuous dye fixation process on pressure-sensitive textile material by means of saturated steam with initially stringent guiding for the prefixing stage but less stringent guiding for the full fixation stage is to be modified according to the invention in such a way that the liquor applied is a foamed or foamable composition and that on completion of the steam treatment the pile must be raised back up prior to cooling.
