FIELD: chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention pertains to electrochemical decomposition of solid substances. Description is given of an electrolyte cell, consisting of an electrically insulated case and two permeable electrodes fitted inside the case. At least one electrode consists of a support plate with openings, perforated electrode plates, and a filtering cloth, put between the support plate with openings and the electrode plate. The cathode is separated from the inside part of the cell by a filler sheet made from permeable non-conducting material. On the cathode side there is a distribution chamber for the electrolyte, and on the anode side there is a collecting chamber for the electrolyte. The cell also consists of a recirculation duct between the collection chamber and the distribution chamber, fitted outside the cell, a device for returning the electrolyte from the collection chamber to the distribution chamber.
