A hand-operated tool for the trimming of fleeces comprises a knife carrier for a plurality of trimming knives and a comb plate intended for resting on the fleece material and having a plurality of passage slots for the trimming knives. Provided as a knife carrier is a freely rotatably mounted supporting roller, on which the trimming knives are supported in circumferential rows for a rotational movement. The trimming knives are at a distance from one another in the circumferential direction in each circumferential row and are arranged with their cutting edges in parallel radial planes of the supporting roller. As a result of a simple rolling movement of the supporting roller on the fleece material, the incisions to be made are executed with maximum accuracy and uniformity in a small amount of time and with the avoidance of undesirable markings or damage in the fleece hair.
