<p>Method for detecting irregular combustion phenomena in an engine, method wherein a sensor senses a characteristic parameter of the combustions cycle, for example the pressure, the luminosity in the combustion chamber, the noise, etc. The sensor signal is integrated in a predetermined angular run of the crank shaft or in a time interval of the combustion cycle and compared with an integral obtained in a preceeding cycle. By confronting consecutive cycles, it is possible to monitor, if an increase of the signal occurs, exceeding a given threshold in normal operation, thereby indicating the beginning of an irregular combustion, or if a signal decrease occurs exceeding a predetermined value during an irregular combustion, thereby indicating the end of such irregular combustion.</p> |
