A device 3 which is electrically manoeuvrable in order to latch or release the turning of an axle, where said device is said to be applied to a lock 2, preferably a lock of the type that includes, on the one hand, a first rotatable device with a key 4, or if necessary a handle 4a, on the other hand another rotatable device with a door piece 5 and where the turning of the first 4 and/or the second device 5 causes a shift of one or more locking cylinders 6 from a locking to a non-locking position or vice versa. A locking or releasing device 3 includes an electrically-powered manoeuvrable device designed, in the first setting position, to cause a locking function against axle turning and in the other setting cause a releasing function for axle turning. By means of the other rotatable unit, the axle extends so that the door pressure 5a can be applied to the axle's one end part and one side of the lock 2, while the device 3 is applied to axle 34 at the other side of the lock.
