The invention shows a frame for a sunroof, which engages over an edge, which engages over the vehicle opening, and an inwardly directed projection in order to receive a seal in a parallel position with respect to the roof. An installation ring rests against the underside of the roof and clamps the roof between a flange of the frame and the installation ring. A cover window can be brought to bear with its circumference against a seal. A locking device is attached on the underside of the cover window adjacently to its edge and has a free end which protrudes towards the edge and engages below the inwardly directed projection. A releasable locking device engages on the frame and brings about an outwards movement of the base of the locking mechanism, the inclined wall sliding to bear on the inwardly directed projection in order to bring about a downwards movement of the locking base for the purpose of squeezing the seal between the cover window and the inwardly directed projection. <IMAGE>
