A device in a planting tool, which is fitted with a tube (1) with a handle, with at its lower end an appliance (4,5) for making a hole in the ground, in which hole plants can be planted through the tube; this appliance (4,5) includes a fixed jaw (4) opposing a moving jaw on the tube, which is attached to a foot pedal (6) for opening the moving jaw against the effect of a spring (12), and a mechanism (7) for retaining the moving jaw in its open position and releasing it to move towards the opposing jaw by the force from the spring. The mechanism (7) includes a check device (8, 9) movably attached to the foot pedal, which in the moving jaw's open position is pulled by the spring (12) against a stop (11) on the tube or the opposing jaw, and which at, and for, the release of the moving jaw can move away from the stop by an adjustable component (14) between the tube and the opposing jaw. The above mentioned spring force is provided by a single coiled spring (12).The mechanism also includes a device (8, 9, and 18) to adjust the moving jaw's furthest spacing from the opposing jaw.<IMAGE> |
