PURPOSE:To remove substances attached to the inner surfaces of tubes of a waste heat boiler efficiently, by blowing steam to the inlet portions of the boiler tubes after or simultanously with blowing of water to the inlet portions of the boiler tubes. CONSTITUTION:Waste combustion gas is introduced into a gas inlet chamber of a waste heat boiler, and flowing in directions shown by G in the drawing, enters into boiler tubes 1 from their inlet ends. Then, it is discharged to the outside from outlet ends of the boiler tubes 1 after imparting heat to boiler water W on the outside of the tubes 1 while passing through the inside of the boiler tubes 1. Here, a mixture of soot, scale, salts, etc. contained in the waste gas is attached to and accumulated on the inner surface of the boiler tubes 1 at their inlet portions. According to the present invention, however, cleaning water is ejected from nozzles 5 of a water header pipe 6 to the inlet portions of the boiler tubes 1 over a wide area for a proper time by opening a valve (not shown) of the pipe 6, and then or simultaneously with the above, steam is blown to the inlet portions of the tubes 1 from nozzles 7 for an appropriate time. By employing such a method, it is enabled to remove substances attached to the inner surface of the boiler tubes 1 efficiently without stopping operation of the boiler. |
