The reactive power compensator is formed by a parallel circuit of static capacitors, individually connectable to the mains, and chokes formed by thyristors. Between the secondary coil of a mains transformer (2) and the chokes (1), formed by thyristors, is incorporated and additional transformer with phase-variable secondary coils. The additional transformer is preferably of a stand-by type. The secondary coils of the additional transformer may have a phase variations of plus/minus 15 deg. The mains transformer may be designed as a two-coil transformer with a low specific short circuit voltage. The additional transformer may be integrated in the mains transformer by additional phase-varying secondary coils. The switchable capacitors (4) are connected cyclically in delta to different phases. |
