The wheel sets of the trolley-bus are driven by several three- phase motors, coupled to a controllable inverter. The drive provides a speed equalisation of the driven wheels when driving round curves. The wheel sets are fitted with individual wheel drive in such manner that in each case at least one group of two series-connected motors (7-10) are used. One or several motors of one bus side are under speed control, responsive to the criteria of curve direction, drive, or braking operation. The motor(s) on the other side of the bus are freely adjusted by the natural motor characteristic. In normal drive operation through curves the outer motors operate at higher speeds than the inner motors on the other bus side. During braking operation under the same conditions the speed of the inner motors is controlled, while that of the outer motors is left without control arrangement. |
