A bucket loader (16) for use in mining has a pusher plate (19) slidably located by guides (20) in the bucket (17). A pair of links (22,23) at each side of bucket (17) are pivotally secured to each other at one respective end (24) and the other ends (26,25) are secured to the bucket (17) and the pusher plate (19) respectively. A piston and cylinder device (28,30) is attached to the links (22,23) at mid locations (29,31) and operable to pivot the links (22,23) relative to each other to slide the pusher plate (19) relative to the bucket (17). The bucket (17) is pivotally mounted on consecutive relatively pivotal mounting parts (39,45,18) and respective piston and cylinder devices are operable to pivot the bucket (17) and each mounting part (29,45,18) relative to an adjacent part so that the bucket (17) is pivotal about three mutually perpendicular axes (32,38,46). <IMAGE> |
