AN ARRANGEMENT AND A METHOD FOR DIRECTING A JET OF FLUID

The arrangement includes a nozzle pivoted in two mutually perpendicular planes. A first hydraulic actuating ram moves the nozzle in one plane, a second hydraulic actuating ram moves the nozzle in the other plane and the rams are controlled automatically. The control unit receives inputs from water-jet monitors and feeds them through amplifiers, via an A/D converter, into a peripheral interface adaptor. Outputs from this are fed into EPROMs, RAMs and a microprocessor. The unit can store a representation of a movement pattern for the nozzle which can be read out for controlling automatically the rams.
