PURPOSE:To improve permeability of H<+> ion and barrier performance of mathanol by forcing crosslinking to contain on its surface of an ion exchange membrane comprising a polymer having -CF2- group. CONSTITUTION:An iron exchange membrane is formed, while it comprises a polymer having -CF2- goup in its main structure, for example, the following constitutional formularI. A layer having crosslinking structure introduced by, for example, low temperature plasma treatment is formed locally in the vicinity of at least one surface layer of this ion exchange membrane. A range of 500Angstrom - 1mu thickness is preferable for this layer. |
