PURPOSE:To maintain the activity of a catalyst by a simple method by keeping a palladium catalyst after the use for hydrogenation reaction again in contact with acetylene alcohol which is the material to be hydrogenated. CONSTITUTION:The palladium type catalyst for hydrogenation to be used in the stage of catalytically reducing acetylene alcohol to olefin alcohol is separated of eacting liquid and the catalyst after the end of the reaction, after which this catalyst is stored in the presence of the acetylene alcohol which is the material to be hydrogenated. Thereby, the degradation in activity during the storage period of the catalyst is eliminated, and semipermanent reuse is made possible by the simple operation. |
