PURPOSE:To simplify manual loosening operation, by engaging a manual loosening device with a fixed core mounting member for an electromagnet and with a brake post fitted with a movable core and by moving the mounting member and the post toward each other against a brake spring. CONSTITUTION:Normally, a brake spring 82 causes a brake shoe 3 to apply a braking force to a brake drum 1. To reduce the braking force, a lever 11 is turned to rotate a manually loosening nut 12 so that a brake post 2 and a fixed core mounting member 5 for an electromagnet 6 are moved toward each other against the brake spring 82. As a result, the same state as the case of the excitation of the electromagnet 6 is brought about to release the brake shoe 3 from the brake drum 1. At that time, an adjusting nut 83 is not moved, so that the lever 11 can be turned in the opposite direction to release the brake spring 82 to cause the shoe 3 to brake the drum 1. |
