A method for quantitatively measuring the amount of endotoxin in a biological sample, and a kit used in the measurement method are provided to allow the amount of endotoxin in a biological sample to be determined precisely and conveniently. A method for quantitatively measuring the amount of endotoxin in a biological sample comprises the steps of preparing a biological sample; a treating the biological sample by heat inactivation; adding the Limulus Amebocyte Lysate reagent to the inactivated biological sample to obtain the reactant; and measuring the OD (optical density) of the reactant after a ceratin time or measuring the time required for reaching a certain OD value.
