The invention concerns an arrangement with which fibrous material web is continuously drained and which preferably consists of a double-wire paper machine. The arrangement has in a preferred variant two endless wire belts, namely a lower wire 21 and an upper wire 22. The lower wire 21 on which the paper web is formed runs together with the upper wire in the lower region of a drainage cylinder 25, which is arranged in the upper wire. Each wire 21, 22 is unwound from the lower, rising quadrant of cylinder 25 and reaches the upper part of support cylinder 26 arranged in lower wire 21. Recesses are found in the surfaces of the drainage cylinder 25 which receive the water from the wires along the arc-shaped contact surfaces with the cylinders and eject it into the interior of the loops formed by the wires. A collection vessel 36 for the ejected water is arranged in the direction of motion of the wires and downstream from the support cylinder 26. The vessel has a bent upper wall 40 that extend in a direction opposite the direction of motion of the wires to a wedge-like groove between drainage cylinder 25 and wires 21, 22. The collection vessel 36 is divided into two chambers 44, 45 that extent at right angles to the direction of motion of the wire and have separate feed channels on the side. The water fed to the main chamber 45 through the upper wall 40 of the vessel is deflected by means of a blade 52 in the direction toward the outlet channel.
