PURPOSE:To enable to precisely and efficiently bore holes with various taper angles by a method wherein the guide way of a tool rest adjustable for inclination is provided in the boring head and as well as the tool rest is fed axially in response to the rotation of the boring head. CONSTITUTION:An internal gear 16 is rotatably provided in the boring head 2. The internal gear 16 is engaged with a gear 24 arranged on a shaft 28, both ends of which are supported by bearings 30 and 32 to the head 2 and the rotation of which is transmitted through a worm 40, a worm wheel 42 and bevel gears 62 to a feed shaft 58 equipped with a feed screw 58a. In addition, a guide member 82, the upper end of which is fixed with a bolt 80, is augularly adjustably provided at the tip of the head 2 with a pin 78 as a fulcrum. The tool rest 84 sliding on the guide member 82 is fed in response to the rotation of the head 2 by means of a sliding member 74 engaging with the feed screw 58a. The rotation of the internal gear 16 is checked because a bolt 22 is brought to a halt by a fixing lever 20 attached on a spindle head 8. |
