PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of density unevenness due to a relative action of a heating element, by a method wherein, in a thermal printer in which a heating element is installed in a line, a time, for which a current is applied to the heating element, is regulated corresponding to the number of dots to be recorded. CONSTITUTION:An image signal, inputted to a sampling circuit 6 from a terminal 5, is converted into a digital signal according to a clock pulse from a timing control circuit 8 to store it in a memory 7. The memory 7 divides the stored information signal into blocks, and the signal for a full block is temporarily held in an auxiliary memory 9. The information signal to be recorded in the auxiliary memory 9 is counted by a counter 10 and is down-counted by a decision circuit 11. As soon as a down count starts, a flip flop, forming a recording pulse generating circuit 12, is set, and a recording pulse, corresponding to the number of counts, is generated at a time when a counting is completed. The recording pulse and the information signal in the auxiliary memory 9 are inputted to a recording drive circuit 13 to carry out a printing recording. |
