PURPOSE:To make the speed of feeding in the circumferential direction of a material to be ground constant, and to equalize the depth of a grinding surface by driving and contacting a high-speed rotary grind stone to the shaft in the vertical direction in response to the phase of revolution of the material to be ground turned at uniform velocity. CONSTITUTION:The phase of revolution of a cylinder (the material to be ground) 1 turned at uniform velocity at low speed is detected by means of a pulse sensor 9, the detecting value is inputted to a controller 8, a motor 7 for positioning in the axial direction and a grind stone driving section 6 are driven and controlled by the command signal of the controller 8, and a grinding section 5 is transported and positioned along the shaft of the cylinder 1 by means of the motor 7. On the other hand, the high-speed rotary grind stone 2 is downward moved in the vertical direction to the shaft of the cylinder 1 in response to the phase of revolution of the cylinder 1 by driving a grind stone driving means 6, and pressure-contacted with the cylinder 1 turned at uniform velocity for a fixed time. The depth of the grinding surface is equalized extending over the whole region of a grinding range because the cylinder 1 is grinding- worked under a condition that the speed of feeding in the circumferential direction of the material to be ground is made constant within the whole grinding range at the uniform-velocity revolution of the cylinder 1. |
