PURPOSE:To surely perform self diagnostic operation with simple constitution, in a self diagnostic device of an ignition system through a microcomputer, by operating an abnormal diagnostic means only when an engine stalls. CONSTITUTION:A warning lamp 1106 is lighted by turning ON a key switch, turned off by starting an engine and checked its own abnormality. If abnormality is caused in each sensor 132-146, each switch 148-152, each actuator 12, 32, 61 and their amplifier 62, transistor 90, etc., said lamp is turned to a flicker mode. When operation can not be continued by this flickering state, if a display switch 1108 is operated, the mode is transferred to a CPU102 through a DIO128, and a control circuit switches a program to a display mode of a fault code. In this program, a lighting mode of the lamp 1106 is controlled in accordance with a read code of an ROMII, and abnormality place and contents are specifically decided. |
