ROTATING CYLINDER OF CHUCK

PURPOSE:To eliminate the manual operation for chucking by a method wherein the opening and closing and the change of setting position of chucking jaws are performed by the back-and-forth movement through a piston and by the rotating movement of a drive shaft respectively in the rotating cylinder of the chuck which operates the chucking jaws automatically with command signal. CONSTITUTION:The piston 32 is provided movable in back and forth within a cylinder rotatably supported through a sleeve body 5. The drive shaft 9 is rotatably and piercingly inserted in the piston 32. A motor is arranged at the end of the drive shaft 9 in order to rotatingly drive the shaft 9. The loading and unloading of work piece by moving the chucking jaws 8 back and forth toward the radial direction of the chuck main body 20 is performed by actuating the piston 32 with command signal in order to move the drive shaft 9 back and forth. The change of setting position of the chucking jaws 8 is performed by driving the motor 6 with command signal in order to rotate the drive shaft 9.
