PURPOSE:To facilitate start operation of an engine in a cold season, by constituting the above described device from a heater for heating the cooling water of the engine, and a remote control device, operating said heater, and preheating the engine before its start by remote control. CONSTITUTION:An electric heater 5 and temperature sensor 6 are arranged in cooling water 7 of an engine, further a battery 4 and radio receiver 2 are provided to the outside, and these are all connected to a controller 3. Then the controller 3 is set in such a manner that the electric heater 5 is operated by a signal from the radio receiver 2 and stopped the operation when the cooling water 7 reaches prescribed temperature or residual power of the battery 4 falls to below a prescribed value. In this way, prior to start operation of the engine, a portable radio transmitter 1 is operated from a certain position in the outside of an automobile to increase temperature of the engine cooling water 7 by the electric heater 5, and then the engine can be easily started. |
