1355093 Spray carburetters ATOX TRUST REG 3 Aug 1971 [5 Aug 1970] 36387/71 Heading F1B A carburetter comprises a main fuel conduit 6 provided with a slide valve 7, an idling fuel conduit 12 provided with a control valve (not shown), and a conduit 16 containing an exhaust gas supply control valve 31 and an air supply control valve 28. During sudden decelerations of the engine the closing movement of the throttle valve 2 causes, via opposed pistons 18, 22 and a trapped volume of air there between, closure of a switch 26 and thereby closure of the idling valve and opening of the air valve 28. Moreover, a lever mechanism attached to the spindle of throttle valve 2 or an electric system, causes closure of the valve 7. Exhaust control valve 31 is arranged to fully close when the throttle valve 2 approaches its fully open position. In order to enrich the fuel mixture on reopening of the idling valve, a mixture stored in a chamber when the idling valve was closed, is injected into the engine intake manifold or carburetter mixing chamber. |
