PURPOSE:To perform both main injection and pilot injection, in a pump where a suction press feed of fuel and its distribution are performed with a plunger in combined use of pumping and distribution, by forming a pilot cavity to the plunger in specific arrangement. CONSTITUTION:Fuel oil is fed into a chamber 3 in a housing 2 from a feed pump 1, and a plunger 5, in combined use of pumping and distribution, is fitted to a barrel 4 mounted to the housing 2. While a control sleeve 19 is slidably fitted to the plunger 5 at its side of the chamber 3 to adjust an injection amount, simultaneously suction grooves 13, communicated to a suction port 12, and distribution port 16 are formed to the plunger 5. Here a pilot cavity 31 is formed to the plunger 5 at a same position as the distribution port 16 further at a position of advanced angle, determined in accordance with a quantity of cylinders in an engine, and communicated to the distribution port 16 through a passage 32 formed in the peripheral surface of the plunger 5. |
