PURPOSE:To increase the contrast ratio of a Braun tube by providing a shading screen within the front glass of the Braun tube, and preventing any unnecessary light scattered in directions perpendicular to electron beams. CONSTITUTION:A glass part 1 of a Braun tube is provided with a front glass, which is formed by attaching a shading screen 2 around glass picture elements 3. Owing to the above constitution, although electron beams emit light by striking against a phosphor 4, light scattered in the direction perpendicular to the electron beams is absorbed or reflected by the shading screen 2. Consequently, the contrast ratio of the Braun tube can be widely increased by preventing the next picuture elements from glittering. |
