PURPOSE:To prevent interference between water flows by arranging each couple of detectors with an axial shift in an ultrasonic measuring device for a water jet type pipe, and obtaining data on the same section by selecting signals from respective detectors. CONSTITUTION:A pipe P is conveyed from right to left by a roller 1 and the pipe axis is aligned to the axis of a shaft to be measured by centripetal mechanisms 5 and 6. Measuring instruments 7-10 each have structure as shown by 17, and jet water is spouted from a head 16 to measured the thickness of the pipe from the time interval of a return echo between the top and reverse surfaces of the pipe obtained by ultrasonic probes in the nozzle. The measuring instruments 7-10 are arranged at prescribed intervals in the moving direction of the pipe, and set at 45, 90, 135, and 180 deg. (e.g. 17 at 45 deg.) to the pipe axis. Therefore, the pipe thickness is detected successively by the measuring instruments 7-10 at timing which corresponds to the speed of the conveyance, and a processor 4 obtains eight signals for the same section finally. |
