<p>PURPOSE:To facilitate the production of an optical reader, by making the optical information of each bit on the same line of an object to be read incident to an end of plural optical fibers and then shifting these optical fibers to each other in the scanning direction and by a prescribed distance in order to connect the other end of the optical fiber to an optical receiver. CONSTITUTION:A punched tape 1 is scanned in a certain speed by rollers 25-28 and in the direction of an arrow (v) and then illuminated by a light source 12. Plural optical fibers 3-10 with one end held by a fiber holder 11 are provided at the lower part of the tape 1 set opposite to the light source 12. The incident end of these optical fibers is shifted to the scanning direction by a prescribed space of (DELTAl=P1tantheta). At the same time, the other end of each of the fibers 3- 10 is connected optically to the same optical receiver 13. Then the receiver 13 is made to correspond to the bit number on a line of the tape 1 just by deciding the distribution of the incident ends of the fibers 3-10 and without giving any position control.</p> |
