PURPOSE:To improve reliability while improviing the efficiency of the process of manufacturing a magnetic head by eliminating the need for the formation of a shielding plate insertion groove and for another nonmagnetic material plate, by providing a shielding plate, made of a magnetic material layer having nonmagnetic material layers formed on both sides, between respective channels. CONSTITUTION:A shielding plate 11 consists of a magnetic substrate 17 made of a magnetic material and nonmagnetic material thin films 18 and 19 formed on both the surfaces of the magnetic substrate 17. The nonmagnetic material thin films 18 and 19 are formed by sputtering, vapor deposition, etc. Those shielding plates 11 are inserted between track parts 3a and 3b, and 3b and 3c of block 1 for manufacturing a front core part and the gaps are charged with glass. Then, the block 1 is cut along a plane as shown by an alternate long and short dash line C to obtain the front core part 1a. Consequently, the magnetic substrate 17 of the shielding plate 11 is prevented from coming into contact with the track parts 3a-3c, and the need to form a conventional shielding plate insertion groove and to use another nonmagnetic material plate is eliminated to improve the efficiency of the process of manufacture and also to improve the reliability. |
