PURPOSE:To ensure a smooth restart for the process of a slip, etc., by selecting the image signals corresponding to each linear image given from an image pickup device in a certain period in accordance with the initial working in the energizing state of a stepping motor. CONSTITUTION:A slip 1 containing a linear image 1a which is long in the direction nearly orthogonal to a scanning direction A is moved by a stepping motor 2 having a feed roller 2a. Thus the image 1a is read repetitively and in a certain period by a line sensor 4 set in the direction orthogonal to the direction A. The image signal read by the sensor 4 is stored in an image memory 8 after an A/D conversion. An AND gate 13 is provided to control selectively the writing of the memory 8, and at the same time a driving pulse generating circuit 10 which drives the motor 2 is connected to the motor 2. Then the circuit 10 and the gate 13 are controlled by a control circuit 9 with the clock supplied from the clock generating circuit 12. Thus the writing to the memory 8 is selected according to the initial working of the motor 2, and the continuous image is stored in the memory 8. |
