PURPOSE:To evaluate the shape of a plate material by using a linear and a spot light source property in accordance with the characteristics of the surface of the plate material, and then observing the distortion of a reflected image on the plate material surface from a straight line. CONSTITUTION:A linear light source 16 is turnable around a spot light source by a driving device 22. A reflected image 20a of the light source on a steel plate 10 is observed through a TV camera 14 to evaluate the shape of the steel plate 10 by its distortion from a straight line. When the surface of the steel plate 10 is close to a mirror surface and reflection has no reflectivity, the linear light source 16 is turned on and turns to an easy-to-see angle, thereby observing the distortion of the reflected image 20a from a straight line. When the reflection has a little directivity, the short tail 20b of a regularly reflected image 20a of the spot light source 20 is made to coincide with a reflected image of the linear light source 16 and the light source is turned until a clear image is obtained, thereby performing the observation. When the reflection has intense directivity, a long tail 20b is obtained only by the spot light source 20, so this is observed. |
