PURPOSE:To switch and display the remaining time of a tape by displaying the remaining time on minute basis when the thickness of the tape and an error in speed deviation, etc., are great or minute and second basis when the error is relatively small. CONSTITUTION:An arithmetic device 3 consists of an arithmetic part CPU, memories ROM and RAM, and input and output circuits I/O1, I/O2, and I/O3. On the basis of the revolving speed of a revolution detection signal inputted through the input and output circuit I/O1, a tape thickness value inputted through the input and output circuit I/O2, a tape running speed value and a reel hub diameter value stored previously in the memory ROM, arithmetic processing is carried out to perform comparison with set values, thereby exercising switching control over the display mode of a display device 4 between a minute and a minute and second basis. |
