<p>PURPOSE:To effectively utilize the entire region of an absorbent layer by removing in a tapered form toward a thickness direction the vicinity of a folded part of a holding screen shaped absorbent layer arranged to a substantially vertical direction against a gas stream to reduce channeling of a gas. CONSTITUTION:The width of the side plate 102 of an absorbent layer 1b is made narrow and the part of an absorbent contacting therewith is partially eliminated in a tapered form to form a eliminated part 104. A part of a large amount of air sucked from a suction port 100 is impinged to the side plate 102 but, because the width of the side plate 102 is made narrow, most of sucked air flows into the space between the absorbent layers 1b largely opened as compared to a conventional apparatus, and smoothly flows thereinto without almost generating eddy stream. Because fluid loss in a flow passage other than the absorbent layer 1a itself is reduced, channeling of air is reduced and water making efficiency of the water making apparatus is enhanced. Not only for the case for obtaining water from moisture in air, said apparatus is applied in taking moisture from a water containing gas.</p> |
