PURPOSE:To reduce the peak flow rate of water on downstream side during the run-off period for preventing damage to a dam by flood by determining the amount of flood to be released so that the total sum of the flood amount to be released from the upstream dam and the remaining amount of flood flowing from branched rivers into the right downstream dam is smoothly altered. CONSTITUTION:For a dam 1, the amount QI.1 of flood coming from upstream and the remaining amount QR.2 of flood flowing from branched rivers into the right downstream dam 2 are estimably calculated. On the basis of the estimated values, an optimum amount QO.1 of flood to be released is determined. Then, for the dam 2, taking into account the delay of the time for the amount QO.1 of flood to be released from the dam 1 to reach the dam 2, the amount Q1.2 of incoming flood is calculated. On the basis of the amount Q1.2 and the estimated remaining amount value QR.3 of the right downstream dam 3, an optimum amount QO.2 of flood to be released is determined. Even for the dam 3, the same calculation is made to determine an optimum amount Q0.2 of flood to be released. Thus, for the amount of flood to be released from the dam 3, more smooth flow pattern can be obtained and therefore, the peak flow rate of flood can be reduced. |
