PURPOSE:To control the entire hot rolled steel plate to a uniform cooling temperature, by providing a plurality of shower pipes in parallel with the transfer direction of a hot rolled steel plate and adjusting the cooling flow rate via a switching valve. CONSTITUTION:The center and the both ends of a hot rolled steel plate 2 at high temperatures carried on a roll carrier 1 are detected for the temperature in advance, and cooling water is applied from a cooling water mother pipe 5 based on the detected temperature. The flow rate of cooling water is controlled to each branch pipe 4 for each switching valve 6 and the cooling water is sprayed on the plate 2 from each jet hole 3b of each shower pipe 3 from each branch pipe 4. Thus, the entire plate 2 is kept to a uniform cooling temperature and the adjusting operation of the cooling flow rate can be made easy. |
