PURPOSE:To reduce the nonuniform cooling of a steel strip and to prevent the contact with nozzles by using the plural cushion type nozzles provided by projecting the same from headers and the straight type nozzles provided by projecting the same to both sides thereof. CONSTITUTION:The cooling gases supplied to headers 2, 2' by blowers 1, 1' eject through the gaseous cushion type nozzles 6, 6' provided by projecting the same by length l from the headers 2, 2' and the straight type nozzles 5, 5' projected likewise by the length l on both sides thereof. After the cooling gases collide against a steel plate 4 traveling in an arrow A direction, they pass through the spaces B, D provided on both sides of the nozzles 5, 5' and are discharged in the direction perpendicular to the plane of the figure. At this time, as the plate 4 goes nearer one of the nozzle 6, 6', the force trying to push back the plate 4 increases sharply, and the contact of the steel plate with the nozzles 6', 6' is prevented. In this device, the nonuniform cooling of the plate 4 is reduced considerably in spite of the small distances L between the plate 4 and the nozzles. |
