PURPOSE:To adjust the deflection of work rolls accurately despite the increase or decrease in the diameter of the work rolls by locating the axial center of a lateral intermediate roll always on the line connecting the axial center of the work rolls and the axial center of a lateral backup roll. CONSTITUTION:After an arm body 31 is held in a prescribed direction by operating a fluid pressure cylinder 29, the other fluid pressure cylinder 17 is operated to move a lateral backup roll 10 in the direction where it approaches to a lower work roll 2, and a lateral intermediate roll 11 is brought into contact with the roll 2. At this time, a block 22 is brought into press contact with a guide surface 10 by the force of a spring, and the axial center of the roll 11 is located on the line 30 connecting the axial centers of the roll 2 and the roll 10. In the case of controlling the shape of the rolling material, the pressing force of the roll 11 is adjusted via the roll 10 by the operation of the cylinder 17, whereby the deflection of the roll 2 in its horizontal direction is adjusted. |
