Releasing these bolted connections with a conventional spanner is often not possible at all or is only possible with the expenditure of considerable force. Physically weaker persons in particular are therefore often unable to carry out a wheel change. By the use of a device designed according to the invention, very tight wheel nuts and wheel bolts can now also be released. Such a device is characterised in that a torque-transmission means with an input shaft and an output shaft is designed in such a way that it can be put onto the wheel nut or the wheel bolt when a socket spanner is attached to the output shaft, in that the torque-transmission means can be locked against rotation about the axis of the output shaft, and in that the input shaft is designed for mounting a hand lever. <IMAGE>
