A floor covering (18) for sports surfaces and paths such as keep-fit tracks or the like contains the following components: 40 to 90% by weight of mineral construction materials, 0 to 40% by weight of an elastic aggregate, 1 to 4% by weight of polyol and a polymeric adhesive as residue. Using such a floor covering, good mechanical properties of the topmost layer of a sports ground can be obtained. It makes it possible to simplify the structure of the sports ground and to reduce its maintenance requirement.
