In rooms in which telephone systems are installed, further electrical devices are often operated which either severely impair the interference-free making of a telephone call due to particularly severe noise formation, or which distract the attention of the person making the call. The invention is designed to ensure that devices of this type are automatically de-activated when a telephone call is received. For this purpose, a mains disconnection device is provided according to the invention which is galvanically, inductively or capacitively connected to the telecommunication network in such a way that an acoustic or other electrical device which is in operation at the time is disconnected from the mains or its loudspeaker is disconnected from the device by a call signal via a switching device. Despite the presence of further devices in the same room in which the call is to take place, it is now ensured that, while the call is in progress, any disturbance caused by these devices to the person making the call is eliminated. The re-activation of the device concerned can be performed automatically or by means of a specific re-activation button. <IMAGE>
