A sheathing, in particular a casing-type sheathing for structural parts for building purposes, comprises a single-part or multi-part shaped body consisting of gas concrete (11, 12). This forms a receiving cavity (13) which is intended for the structural part (10) and is designed and dimensioned such that it encloses at least the peripheral surface to be sheathed of said structural part. The shaped body can comprise at least two shaped-body parts (11, 12), which can be assembled to form the receiving cavity. Furthermore, all of, or some of, the shaped-body walls forming the receiving cavity (13), or indeed the parts (11, 12) of said shaped body, can be shaped in a manner which complements the respectively facing outer wall of the structural part (10) to be sheathed. The respective surfaces of the parts assembled to form the shaped body can be adhesively bonded to one another and/or to the structural part. <IMAGE>
