PURPOSE:To prevent the squeak of a brake, by integrally making the web and rim of a brake shoe from cast iron and riveting a flat steel rim plate on the rim at the loop and node of vibration. CONSTITUTION:A web 1 and a rim 11 are integrally made of cast iron. A thick rim part 13 is provided on the bottom of the rim 11. A main plate 14 is provided so that it is continuous to the thick rim part 13. The rim 11 is also continuous to the main plate 14. The weight ratio of the rim 11 to a flat rim plate 2 is set at 5:1. The width of the rim 11 is set at such a minimum value that the flat rim plate 2 can be riveted. A right rivet 3 and a left rivet 5 are provided on the nodes of vibration of the brake shoe. A central rivet 4 is provided on the loop of the vibration. The flat rim plate 2 is made of a rectangular steel plate of small thickness and riveted on the rim 11 to provide a double-rim structure. A lining 9 is riveted on the flat rim plate 2. |
