In the real-time analysis of the spectrum of an analog signal, the signal to be analysed is supplied in parallel to a number of channels. The outputs of the channels are sampled by a multiplexer, the output signal of which is supplied via an A/D converter to further chips of the system, for example a computer. To adapt the arrangement to different tasks and for optimising the spectrum analysis, a filter bank according to Figure 1 is used, all of whose parameters are variable and are in each case digitally controlled by a command word. <IMAGE>
