A control circuit for sampling and driving switches or magnets which are connected to one another and to a sequence control unit via leads (cables), which control circuit is distinguished by the fact that the cabling cost can be kept very low even for a very large number of switches and magnets, in that a control assembly is formed which consists of a series circuit formed from a diode, a magnet and a switch having a zener diode arranged in parallel with the switch, the control assembly being arranged at predetermined intersections of a lead matrix.
