An apparatus for the continuous boiling of high concentration starch is proposed. Downstream of a first pump is connected an additional pump having a higher delivery rate than the first pump and coupled to a steam injector which has a inlet for a steam line, a reaction pipe extending from the outlet of the pump. Between the second pump and the steam injector is arranged a boiling tube.
