PURPOSE:To improve the performance of a typewriter up to that of a photocomposer, by forming an image through the processes of formation of a latent image, development, transcription and fixing respectively for the selected character train. CONSTITUTION:The selection of character is carried out for the character train to be printed through a keyboard operation 20, and the desired characters on a matrix character film 21 within an exposure device 4 are set at a prescribed irradiating position by a character selecting mechanism 22. The light is irradiated from a light source 23 to have the formation of image and exposure on the surface of a drum 2 having a small diameter via a projecting optical system 24. Thus an electrostatic latent image is formed on the drum. In the image forming process on the surface of the drum 2, the time from the primary charging to the development is prescribed with the allowance dark attenuation time defined as the maximum factor. Then the stay time of the drum is decided for an exposure device A. The time from the primary charging to the development is set within the allowance dark attenuation time for every character of a picture, and as a result, the even quality is secured at every part. |
