PURPOSE:To improve the rate of vulcanization, and to obtain a vulcanized product having excellent scorch resistance, water resistance, etc., by vulcanizing an elastomer derived from ethylene, an acrylate, an oxazoline ring-containing monomer, etc. in the presence of a specific compound. CONSTITUTION:A vulcanizable ethylene acrylate elastomer is obtained by copolymerizing (A) about 15-60wt% ethylene with (B) about 80-30% acrylate consisting of an alkyl (meth)acrylate having 1-4C alkyl group (e.g. methyl acrylate), (C) about 15-0.1% monomer containing oxazoline ring (e.g. 2-vinyl-2- oxazoline) and (D) about 30-0% polymerizable monomers copolymerizable with the above components A-C (e.g. vinyl chloride). The elastomer is vulcanized in the presence of a compound containing polymercapto group (e.g. 1,6-dimercaptohexane). |
